This project explored the connection between the historic Vancouver Asahi baseball team and the contemporary design language of Kapital. Given Kapital's strong American influence and the significant rise in baseball's popularity in Japan, it was natural for Kapital to design the uniforms for the Vancouver Asahi.

We began with extensive visual research and developed mood boards to identify and merge the key aesthetics, values, and storytelling elements from both influences. We translated these concepts into technical illustrations and then moved on to pattern making, constructing, and sewing a full-scale uniform prototype, complete with Kapital-inspired hand-embroidered details. The final garment reimagines a traditional baseball uniform through a modern, craft-driven perspective while honouring the cultural legacy of the Vancouver Asahi.
